The ideal candidate will possess strong SQL development skills, expertise in data visualization, and solid knowledge of dimensional modeling. As a Data Engineer Consultant, you will work closely with our clients to design, develop, and optimize their data infrastructure, ensuring the delivery of high-quality data solutions that meet business requirements.

This role is a mainly remote one for candidates who are relatively close to the Metro Denver area. Intermittent/occasional onsite work in Denver should be expected.

Please also note that we are somewhat stack agnostic, so those with classically defined data engineering skills (ETL Modeling and Design, Data Pipelines, Relevant Builds, etc.) are encouraged to apply regardless of tech stack.

Please also note we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time. This is to include sponsorship down the road.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Data Infrastructure Development (ETL, SQL):
    • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes tailored to client needs.
    • Develop and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot data-related issues, providing quick and effective resolutions.
    • Analyze data workflows and identify areas for improvement, recommending and implementing solutions to optimize performance.
    • Utilize a proactive approach to foresee potential problems and address them before they impact clients' operations.
  2. Dimensional Modeling and Data Modeling:
    • Design and implement dimensional models to support data warehousing and business intelligence initiatives.
    • Design and implement different data modeling techniques to meet business' data demands that align with data architecture design.
    • Develop and maintain data schemas, ensuring data integrity and consistency for clients.
  3. Data Visualization:
    • Create and maintain dashboards and reports using data visualization tools to provide actionable insights.
    • Train clients on best practices for using data visualization tools to maximize value.
  4. Client Consultation:
    • Engage with clients to understand their data needs and business objectives.
    • Conduct detailed requirements analysis and provide recommendations for data infrastructure improvements.
    • Work closely with client teams, data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data needs and provide technical support.
    • Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or a similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL
  • Proven experience with data visualization tools and theory.
  • In-depth knowledge of dimensional modeling concepts and techniques.
  • Familiarity with ETL tools and processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients.

The desired salary range for this position is $90,000 - $140,000 per year. This is a full time role with the practice.
