Job Description:
As a SQL Server Database Administrator, you will provide database administration, application support, and technical services for enterprise systems and databases. This role is responsible for maintaining SQL Server environments, supporting database applications, optimizing system performance, troubleshooting technical issues, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable database solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer, maintain, and support Microsoft SQL Server databases and related environments.
- Manage database performance, availability, security, backups, recovery, and maintenance activities.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects using T-SQL.
- Support SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reporting solutions and database-driven applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database, server, and application-related issues.
- Collaborate with project managers, business users, and technical teams to gather requirements and implement solutions.
- Maintain and enhance existing database code and applications developed by internal teams.
- Provide technical support to end users and assist with incident resolution.
- Document database processes, configurations, procedures, and technical solutions.
- Support system upgrades, deployments, and continuous improvement initiatives across database environments.
Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies:
- Strong experience administering Microsoft SQL Server environments and performing database administration tasks.
- Extensive experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and T-SQL development.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve complex database and application issues.
- Experience maintaining, modifying, and supporting code developed by multiple developers.
- Strong understanding of database security, backup and recovery strategies, and performance tuning.
- Experience providing technical support and troubleshooting for end users and business applications.
- Knowledge of server administration, system maintenance, and enterprise IT operations.
- Experience with SDLC methodologies and supporting application development lifecycles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Experience with .NET technologies, Visual Basic, SharePoint, Power Platform, and web technologies such as ASP.NET, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, and JSON is highly preferred.
The hourly range for roles of this nature are $50.00 to $75.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
