Opportunity:
Respiratory Therapist
Job Details:
• Work in the NICU located on the 2nd floor of the hospital
• Day shift staffing includes 2 RTs (1 NICU) with clinical coordinator Monday through Friday; night shift includes 2 RTs
• Patient ratios: 1st RT covers NICU, MST, and/or PCU; 2nd RT covers ER, ICU, MST, or PCU, subject to change based on acuity
• Rotating weekends required
• Operate and manage ventilators including Servo U, PB 980, MR1 transport vent, and C1 Hamilton Medical
• Use BiPAP equipment including V60 and C1, F&P Bubble CPAP, and F&P HFNC
• Document and chart using Meditech EMR
• Wear black scrubs
• Provide critical care management for adult vent patients
• Perform vent weaning per guidelines and trach care management
• Deliver emergency and standard airway care for all patient populations
• Perform EKG procedures and blood gas analysis including ABG sample draws
• Administer respiratory therapy medications and develop RT plan of care
• Conduct assessments and progress evaluations
• Provide oxygen therapy and respond to Code Blue, Trauma, and STEMI situations
• Assist with bedside bronchoscopy
• Maintain safety standards, complete checklists, and follow infection prevention standards
• Communicate effectively with physicians and document all therapy provided
• NICU experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, Texas state license, NBRC RRT
