Summary:
Performs technical laboratory work in a scientific research laboratory.
Utilizes quantitative and qualitative techniques to analyze laboratory fluid or tissue samples.
Operates and cares for laboratory equipment; maintains laboratory supplies and related inventory.
Prepares standard media, cultures, reagents, stains and solutions.
Participates in and performs assigned phases of scientific research projects.
Tracks, stores, retrieves and distributes specimens for laboratory analysis; prepares related records.
May use computers to organize and analyze laboratory research efforts.
Conducts oneself in accordance with established organizational and departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety and compliance standards.
Conducts oneself in accordance with standards of professionalism in all aspects of work interactions and communications.
Conducts oneself in accordance with organizational and departmental attendance standards.
Enhances professional growth and development by participating in educational programs, reading current literature, and participating in in-service meetings and workshops.
Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department; maintains, distributes, analyzes and projects information for required records, reports and statistics as directed.
Shares expertise with colleagues, offers guidance and ensures knowledge transfer, as needed and as appropriate to the role.
Attends meetings as required.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Salary range for this position is $40,413 - $51,716 which includes a comprehensive benefits package. The listed pay range reflects the range of potential compensation for this role. The actual offer may vary based on qualifications, skills, and experience.
Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience
1. Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field; or
2. Associate’s degree in a science-related field and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time laboratory experience; or
3. High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time laboratory experience.
