Distribution Manager
Responsible for the functional coordination and management of distribution, shipping-receiving, mail distribution, inventory control and forms management within the Health System and outside resources. Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates core values. Coordinates the functions of distribution, shipping/receiving, mail, inventory control and forms management for the Health System. Assures the standards of operation of the department are in compliance with the standards set by regulatory agencies. Responsible for hiring, training, supervising, coaching, mentoring, retaining and evaluating of staff. Conducts progress reviews and performance appraisals for assigned staff. Establishes, implements and maintains policies and procedures for shipping-receiving, distribution, warehouse and mailroom processes and activities. Oversees the departmental budgetary procedure to ensure proper operational and capital planning; appropriate and efficient use of resources, and consistent compliance to budgetary and fiscal controls.
Required knowledge, skills and abilities: Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to work functions. Knowledge of the principles and applications of inventory control. Knowledge of Federal, State, and local laws governing materials distribution in a health system environment. Knowledge of organizational and human resource management standards and practices. Knowledge of performance improvement, budgetary and financial methods and practices. Knowledge of management and leadership principles and practices. Skill in conflict diffusion and resolution. Ability to perform crucial conversations with desired outcomes. Ability to make operational and management decisions in response to changing conditions.
Education and experience: Bachelor's degree required. Minimum of three (3) years experience in a hospital materials or inventory control position required. Prior supervisory experience desired. Other credentials/certifications: Valid State of Nebraska driver's license required. Verification and maintenance of responsible driving record per facility standards required. Pallet jack certification required.
