ELECTRICAL SUPERINTENDENT:

MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WORKING ON MULTI-FAMILY CONSTRUCTION (New Construction on Hotels, Retirement Centers and Apartments) as a Superintendent

Job Summary :

The Superintendent oversees all phases of the construction process, from initial planning through project completion. This role ensures work is completed safely, on schedule, and within budget while coordinating the equipment, materials, and resources needed to support multiple active projects.

Essential Responsibilities:

Project Oversight

  • Direct all on-site construction activities to ensure work aligns with project plans, specifications, and contract requirements.
  • Plan, organize, and oversee each phase of the construction process from project startup through closeout.
  • Supervise field personnel, subcontractor coordination, and daily jobsite operations.
  • Monitor project schedules and adjust manpower and resources as needed to maintain production goals.
  • Track project progress and maintain accurate daily reports documenting completed work.
  • Conduct routine site visits to evaluate safety, workmanship, productivity, and overall project performance.
  • Coordinate project activities with other trades to ensure compatibility of building systems and successful installation sequencing.
  • Participate in design, kickoff, coordination, subcontractor, project review, and closeout meetings.
  • Communicate project status, scheduling updates, site logistics, and completion milestones with the General Contractor and project stakeholders.
  • Document site conditions, delays, weather impacts, and unforeseen events, communicating their effects to the management team.

Field Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop field employees, including Apprentices, Laborers, Journeymen, and Foremen.
  • Assign manpower based on project demands and workforce availability.
  • Ensure crews have the tools, equipment, documentation, and materials required to perform work efficiently.
  • Verify all field personnel maintain required safety training and equipment certifications.
  • Promote a culture focused on quality workmanship, teamwork, and jobsite safety.

Project Administration

  • Complete material takeoffs and assist with procurement planning.
  • Request purchase orders and coordinate the acquisition of equipment and project materials.
  • Review project documents, including bid revisions, ASIs, and other design changes, while assisting with pricing and implementation.
  • Provide technical support to the Project Manager for RFIs, change orders, submittals, operation and maintenance manuals, and related documentation.
  • Monitor labor hours, material costs, and overall project budgets while identifying opportunities for cost savings.
  • Maintain responsibility for project scheduling and regularly review milestone completion with all involved parties.
  • Keep accurate records through project photos, daily documentation, and progress reporting.

Coordination & Compliance

  • Coordinate with utility providers, inspectors, and local jurisdictions to obtain inspections and required permits.
  • Schedule inspections and participate in job walks with inspectors and owners as required.
  • Conduct owner training upon project completion.
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable building codes, project specifications, company standards, and industry best practices.
  • Maintain compliance with all company safety policies, environmental requirements, and owner-specific regulations.
  • Oversee site logistics, including temporary facilities, equipment, water, storage containers, parking, access, and heavy equipment needs.
  • Foster positive working relationships with owners, general contractors, inspectors, vendors, and project stakeholders.

Equipment & Resource Management

  • Manage jobsite inventory of equipment, materials, tools, and construction supplies.
  • Ensure installation equipment and materials are available to support scheduled work activities.
  • Track project material usage and budgets while maintaining accountability for company assets.
  • Coordinate equipment allocation across multiple active projects as needed.
