Are you an experienced engineer who loves rolling up your sleeves, leading teams, and driving innovation in a fast-paced, small-team environment? At Innovative-IDM, we’re looking for a player-coach to help lead our Carol Stream branch—someone who thrives on variety, ownership, and impact.
As our Engineering Manager , you’ll be at the heart of our operations, guiding engineering, manufacturing, and field service teams while also diving into technical projects yourself. This is a strategic role with real hands-on responsibility—perfect for someone who enjoys blending leadership with technical execution.
What You’ll Do
Player (Hands-On Engineering – ~50%)
- Design, program, and commission industrial automation systems (PLC, HMI, VFD, motion control, robotics, etc.)
- Collaborate with customers to define project scope and deliver high-quality solutions
- Perform quality inspections and drive continuous improvement in production
- Document and implement engineering changes to improve accuracy and efficiency
Coach (Leadership & Support – ~50%)
