Position Overview

The Windows Engineering Manager will lead the engineering, delivery, and operational support of the enterprise Windows endpoint platform. This position provides both technical and people leadership for a team responsible for the design, deployment, management, security, and lifecycle of end-user computing services.

The Manager will drive enterprise end-user computing strategies, ensuring Windows platforms remain secure, compliant, reliable, and aligned with business objectives. This role will oversee engineering standards, operational processes, platform modernization initiatives, and service performance while promoting accountability, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.

The position will lead a distributed team of approximately 8 10 desktop engineers and technicians and will be responsible for Windows endpoint management, device provisioning, operating system lifecycle management, and endpoint security. The Manager will work closely with Infrastructure, Information Security, Network, and Enterprise Operations teams to deliver scalable solutions supporting a hybrid workforce.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of approximately 8 10 Windows and desktop engineers/technicians.
• Oversee enterprise Windows endpoint engineering, deployment, management, and lifecycle activities.
• Establish engineering standards, operational processes, and best practices for endpoint services.
• Manage Windows OS upgrades, device provisioning, patching, imaging, and lifecycle programs.
• Lead endpoint management modernization initiatives involving Microsoft Intune, SCCM/MECM, and co-management.
• Drive automation and zero-touch provisioning using PowerShell, Python, and related technologies.
• Support and modernize VDI and remote computing environments.
• Partner with security teams to maintain endpoint hardening, encryption, EDR, identity, and compliance requirements.
• Lead enterprise testing strategies, pilot programs, proof-of-concepts, and technical evaluations.
• Evaluate endpoint technologies, tools, vendors, and solutions and provide data-driven recommendations.
• Monitor platform health, service quality, operational stability, and engineering performance.
• Support Windows 10 to Windows 11 migrations and other major operating system initiatives.
• Drive adoption of modern endpoint technologies including Windows 365, Cloud PC, Autopilot, and Intune-first strategies.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Network, Information Security, and Enterprise Operations teams.
• Manage priorities, remove technical and operational barriers, and develop engineering talent.
• Support vendor relationships, licensing optimization, budgeting, and contract oversight as needed.
• Continuously improve the end-user experience through automation, analytics, and modern support models.

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of IT engineering experience.
• 5+ years of enterprise desktop, endpoint, or end-user computing experience, including leadership responsibilities.
• Strong hands-on experience with Windows in large enterprise environments.
• Expert-level experience with Microsoft SCCM/MECM and Microsoft Intune.
• Experience with software distribution, patching, compliance, and co-management.
• Strong understanding of VDI technologies such as Citrix, VMware Horizon, or Azure Virtual Desktop.
• Experience with PowerShell, Python, or similar scripting technologies for endpoint automation.
• Strong knowledge of endpoint security, including encryption, EDR, identity, and system hardening.
• Understanding of LAN/Wi-Fi, VPN, DNS, and DHCP concepts.
• Experience supporting thousands of endpoints across multiple locations and hybrid work environments.
• Experience with Windows Autopilot, Windows 365 Cloud PC, Intune-first strategies, or major Windows OS migrations.
• Demonstrated leadership of enterprise testing, pilots, POCs, and vendor technical evaluations.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and people-management skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within financial services or another highly regulated industry.
• Experience managing OEMs, software vendors, and technology service providers.
• Experience with budgeting, licensing optimization, and contract management.
• Experience driving enterprise endpoint modernization and transformation initiatives.
• Strong track record of improving end-user experience through automation, analytics, and modern workplace technologies.

This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days onsite at either the Plano, TX or Reston, VA office.
