Assists in loading and unloading trucks and flatbed trailers and organizing the yard based on the yard layout plan.
Loads and unloads cargo units.
Ensures all safety precautions are taken by observing forklift operations and looking for any rigging concerns prior to all lifts and notifying Yard Operator or Supervisor of any concerns.
Performs frequent inspections and preventive maintenance on yard equipment as needed.
Observes chemical pad and container condition for any concerns to be reported. Initiates spill response in the event of a spill or drill.
Requires HAZWOPER 8-hour training and certification, first-aid, CPR & AED training certifications, California Hazardous Waste Management Certification.
Must be competent in the following activities:
- Communicating with hand signals
- Observing and noticing any safety concerns
- Knowledge of safe forklift operations
- Cycle counting of outside inventory
This is a temporary role of up to three months, with the potential for full-time employment.
