Business Analyst

This position does not offer visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the USA without the need for employer-sponsored visa support.

Candidates for this role should be within 2 hours of Stow, Ohio (Akron, Cleveland area preferred).

Do you have a desire to answer questions? Are you looking for an opportunity to fully utilize your analytics skills? Can you work in a fast-paced environment? If you're a self-driven person with sharp attention to detail, this opportunity is for you!

If you love collaborating with others to solve problems, are detail and process oriented, have a continuous improvement mindset, enjoy uncovering new opportunities to drive growth, our Business Analyst position could be the next great career opportunity for you. We're looking for a highly organized, curious, and analytically strong Business Analyst to help keep work and priorities on track, turn data into clear insights, and present actionable recommendations to leadership. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working across teams, and able to translate data into simple, compelling narratives for non-technical audiences.

You will be working within the Financial Services and Customer Service teams that support over 1,900 Matco franchisees and 80,000 technician accounts, reporting to the Manager, Operational Strategy & Support.

The role will be based in our Stow office location on a hybrid model. Remote location with occasional travel will be considered as well.

What You Will Do:

As a key member of the Operational Strategy & Support team, your contribution to the overall customer and employee experience will be instrumental. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Track and coordinate work across projects: maintain project trackers, monitor priorities, escalate blockers, and ensure deadlines are visible and met.
  • Gather, validate, and document business requirements from stakeholders; translate them into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, or functional specs.
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends, root causes, opportunities, and risks.
  • Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and KPI scorecards that provide leadership with concise, decision-ready information.
  • Prepare executive summaries and present findings to leadership in plain language, highlighting implications and recommended next steps.
  • Support prioritization by evaluating effort vs. impact, maintaining backlog priority, and facilitating cross-functional alignment.
  • Run or support regular stakeholder meetings, status reviews, and post-implementation retrospectives.
  • Create process maps, workflows, and standard operating procedures to increase consistency and reduce handoffs.
  • Ensure data quality and work with data engineers/analysts to resolve discrepancies or improve instrumentation.

Who You Are (Qualifications) At Matco Tools, we believe in YOU. We believe in your potential - your ability to learn, grow and make an impact. And we believe in giving you the opportunity, accountability, and visibility to do just that.

To be successful in this role, the below qualifications apply:

  • 35 years of business analysis, operations, product, or related experience.
  • Strong organization and time-management skills; proven experience keeping multiple workstreams and priorities coordinated.
  • Solid analytical skills with comfort working in Excel (pivot tables, formulas) and running basic queries (SQL) or working with analysts who do.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; able to synthesize complex information into brief, actionable executive-level deliverables.
  • Naturally curious mindset and strong problem-solving instincts.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical abilities to interpret complex data, assess trends, and propose informed decisions.
  • Ability to identify and solve business problems, articulate complex ideas, create comprehensive documentation, and communicate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (such as Business, Finance, Analytics, or Management Information Systems).
  • Experience in lending/credit with Oracle proficiency (Preferred).

Fit Factors:

  • Attention to detail & data quality focus.
  • Effective time management and personal organization.
  • Tenacity / Do what it takes.
  • Curiosity & continuous improvement don't accept the status quo.
  • Sense of urgency quick to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Flexibility able to adapt to changing responsibilities.
  • Takes initiative, hands-on approach.
  • Strategic and tactical planning and execution.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

The base compensation range for this position is $68,000 to $82,300 per annum. Your actual base salary will be determined based upon numerous factors which may include relevant experience, skills, location (labor market data), credentials (education, certifications), and internal equity.
