This role is a full-time, fully benefited position.

As a UX/Interaction Designer (VR/Simulation) placed with KellyOCG you will be responsible for the following: We are seeking a highly experienced UX / Interaction Designer to lead the design of screens, menus, interactions, and instructional overlays for immersive medical simulation and VR based training experiences. This role focuses on crafting intuitive, image driven, and game inspired user experiences that guide users before, during, and after simulator exercises.
The ideal candidate brings strong game or interactive product UX experience, thrives in technical and regulated environments, and can collaborate closely with developers, designers, and product partners to ensure designs are both instructionally effective and technically feasible.
This role will operate under HFXD mentorship and supervision.
Key Responsibilities Simulator UX & Interaction Design
- Design menus, navigation systems, interactions, and on-screen overlays for simulator exercises.
- Create clear, intuitive pre-exercise instruction screens that teach users how to engage with the experience.
- Design intra exercise 2D and 3D overlays, prompts, and interactions that guide learning in real time.
- Design post exercise metrics and dashboards to communicate performance feedback clearly.
Design & Prototyping
- Create user flows, wireframes, high fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes using Figma and related tools.
- Develop clickable prototypes to validate usability, instructional clarity, and interaction logic.
Interaction Design
- Define the “dialogue” between user and product, including taps, clicks, gestures, animations, transitions, and feedback states.
- Ensure interactions feel intuitive, responsive, and aligned with game based learning principles.
Information Architecture
- Organize content, navigation, and hierarchy to support efficient learning and ease of use.
- Balance instructional clarity with visual simplicity in high focus training scenarios.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with UI/UX designers, engineers, product managers, and 3D artists to ensure design feasibility and consistency.
- Clearly articulate design rationale and decisions to stakeholders across disciplines.
User Research & Testing (Nice to Have)
- Conduct usability testing to validate designs and identify opportunities for iteration.
- Analyze user feedback and data to inform design improvements.
Required Qualifications - Image centric motion instruction, teaching users how to “play” or complete an exercise visually.
- Game UI/UX experience, particularly for immersive or learning focused VR experiences.
- Mobile UI/UX design, including small footprint interfaces (touchpads, viewer GUIs).
- Web & SaaS UI/UX design experience.
- Dashboard design, particularly for performance metrics and results.
- Landing page and flow based UI design.
- Strong skills in:
- Interactive prototyping
- Branding & visual identity
- Icon design
- 2D and/or 3D illustration (any style)
