Equipment Hauler - Driver – CDL Class A


Employment Type: Full-Time, home every night, Small Business with team environment


Position Type: Hourly

Salary Range: $27-$34


Shift: Local DFW area and Regional deliveries; together the shift will vary from 8 to 12 hours averaging 10 hours, Shift starts generally between 6am and 7am. Mon - Fri base, with Sat & Sun as needed


Job Location: Grand Prairie, TX (at I-30 and Beltline Road)

GENERAL SUMMARY


The Equipment Hauler will be responsible for the safe and timely pickup and delivery of Construction, and/or agricultural equipment at customer request. The Equipment Hauler will load and unload customer equipment using hydraulic tail trailers or RGN (Lowboy) trailers and chain and bind equipment for safe transport. The Equipment Hauler will serve Equipment Rental Companies with high productivity expectations in addition to General Contractors and Equipment Repair Vendors. Driver will work 40 hours a week (plus Overtime), depending on employee desire and available work load. In nearly every case, the driver will be home every evening.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES


Equipment Hauler


  • Safe and efficient loading, unloading, securing, and transporting different types of customer equipment
  • Examples: Scissor Lift, Boom Lift, Lift truck, Backhoe, Excavator, Wheel Loader, Motor Grader, and various types of heavy rental equipment
  • Distribute weight evenly on equipment trailer and secure load with chains and binders.
  • Complete daily truck log and submit reports timely
  • Observe and report equipment or mechanical failures immediately
  • Function as the face of Status Logistics in all interactions with customers and the public.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS


  • Must be at least 23 years of age and read and write at the high school level
  • Possess a valid Department of Transportation (DOT) Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A
  • Must have 2 years of experience in loading/unloading and hauling heavy equipment
  • Physical requirements include; vision of 20/20 with or without corrective lenses, and ability to bend, twist, squat, reach, lift up to 75 pounds, ride in equipment baskets at 10’ to 30’ in the air, push & pull rolling racks in and out of trailers, and climb on a repetitive basis.
  • Must have a clean MVR with a minimum of two (2) years verifiable commercial driving experience
  • Can pass DOT physical, drug screen and criminal background check
  • Have no more than 3 moving violation in the past three (3) years or any serious driving offenses in the past seven (7) years.
  • No Citations for a DOT defined accident in the past three (3) years.
