OPEN JOB: Heavy Civil Superintendent – large roadway projects
LOCATION: Phoenix, Arizona
BASE SALARY: $95,000 to $120,000

IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Our client is looking for a Superintendent who has, roadway earthwork experience, urban reconstruction experience. These are “Must Haves.”
• We are looking for someone with experience with large (e.g. $70 Million large) roadway work experience.
• The experience MUST INCLUDE grading, sub grading, prepping long strips of roadway for construction, excavation, etc.

Essential Responsibilities and Abilities
The Superintendent responsibilities and abilities include:

• Understand, enforce, and carry out Safety Policies.
• Create Job Hazard Analysis for assigned tasks and perform safety inspections.
• Read and understand plans, specifications and local building codes.
• Schedules and documents all required inspections, quality testing, or other compliance requirements.
• Comply with Dust Control, SWPPP, and environmental requirements.
• Complete daily reports including, employee hours, quantities completed, and daily diary.
• Read and understand project baseline schedules and generate three-week construction schedules weekly.
• Schedule and order materials, inspections, equipment and work force in order to meet project schedules, productions and specifications.
• Directly supervise jobsite crews to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules.
• Confers with and directs personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
• Maintain a general knowledge of equipment used on the job including basic understanding of equipment limits and design purposes.
• Manage all day-to-day operations on the project and keep the project management team apprised.

• A minimum of 10 years of roadway superintendent or Foreperson work experience leading heavy equipment crews (e.g. grader, trackhoe, backhoe, loader, crane, etc.)
• A minimum of 10 years of work experience and understanding of all phases of roadway / highway construction.
• A minimum of 10 years of roadway, earth work, road winding type projects.
• A minimum of 10 years of DOT roadway projects
• Education – four or more years related experience and / or training; or a bachelor degree from a four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
