Position Summary
The Loader position is the final stage of the production process. This process includes pulling windows from the correct rack that have been staged for shipment and loaded onto the correct trailer. This position must focus on proper loading techniques and securing techniques in order to ensure employee safety and items reach their destination without damage. The Loader confirms that all orders are complete, accurate, and properly documented before leaving the plant.
What to Expect
- Locate windows in staging area, place on cart and transport to outgoing truck according to shipping destination.
- Securely position windows in trucks by utilizing fastening and protective devices such as ratchet straps, shipping pillows and cardboard.
- Use scanner to allow for digital tracking of outgoing and incoming windows (inventory management).
- May use a motorized or manual pallet jack as well as a tow motor and must have the proper training and certification from our safety department to use this machinery.
- Follow all company safety procedures regarding proper loading techniques while placing windows and patio doors onto the trailers.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a warehouse or shipping environment
- Commitment to safety and strict adherence to safety protocols and guidelines
- Proficiency in spoken and written English sufficient to:
- Read and understand safety procedures, hazard warnings, and equipment operating instructions.
- Accurately complete production records, quality checklists, and incident reports in English.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, maintenance personnel, and team members to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Ability to work flexible hours or weekends as needed based on production demand.
Physical Requirements
- Lifting & Carrying: Frequently lifting items weighing 50 lbs. Must be able to lift to 150 lbs. with assistance.
- Endurance: Standing and walking on concrete floors for 8--12-hour shifts.
- Body Mechanics: Frequent bending, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, and reaching.
- Agility & Coordination: Climbing ladders, navigating narrow aisles, and maneuvering in fast-paced, sometimes crowded environments.
- Manual Dexterity: Handling, sorting, and scanning small products repetitively.
- Vision & Hearing: Good, corrected vision is necessary for reading labels and operating equipment, while hearing is required to detect alarms.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided and is required to be worn daily.
