Job Title: Material HandlerJob Description

The Material Handler supports a large aerospace machine shop by safely moving materials, operating forklifts, performing part marking, and managing inventory through scan in/scan out processes. This role helps ensure that production runs smoothly by keeping materials organized, accurately tracked, and ready for use on the shop floor.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts safely to move materials and products throughout the warehouse and production areas.
• Perform scan in/scan out activities to accurately track materials, parts, and inventory within the facility.
• Handle part marking tasks to ensure all materials and components are properly labeled and identifiable.
• Support cutting operations as needed, assisting with preparing materials for production.
• Work in the warehouse to receive, store, organize, and stage materials for production and shipping.
• Assist machine operators and production teams by ensuring timely delivery of materials to the appropriate workstations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in the warehouse and shop floor.
• Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines when operating equipment and handling materials.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate material flow and resolve issues.

Essential Skills

• Experience working as a material handler in a warehouse, production, or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift in a busy shop or warehouse setting.
• Familiarity with scan in/scan out systems or other inventory tracking tools.
• Experience with basic cutting tasks and handling materials for production use.
• Knowledge of part marking processes to ensure accurate identification of materials and components.
• Ability to work effectively in a large, industrial machine shop environment.
• Strong attention to detail when tracking, labeling, and moving materials.
• Reliability and punctuality to support scheduled shifts from 7:00 . to 3:30 . or 7:30 . to 4:00 .

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior experience in an aerospace, machining, or similar manufacturing environment.
• Comfort working around large machinery and production equipment.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced production setting.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with warehouse, production, and shop personnel.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tukwila, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
