Job description


A global financial-services organization is seeking an experienced Application Developer to build, automate, enhance, and support internal business applications using Microsoft Power Platform, SharePoint Online, and SQL Server.

This position combines new application development with ongoing production support. The developer will work directly with business and technology stakeholders to identify opportunities for automation and take solutions from requirements and design through deployment, troubleshooting, and ongoing enhancement.

This is not primarily a Power BI or reporting position. The successful candidate must have hands-on experience building production Power Apps and Power Automate solutions that integrate with databases and enterprise systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, deploy, and support business applications using Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint, and related Microsoft technologies.
  • Build workflow automations supporting financial-services business and control functions.
  • Design and maintain SQL Server databases, relational models, tables, stored procedures, indexes, queries, and application interfaces.
  • Integrate applications with SQL Server, Dataverse, SharePoint, APIs, and other enterprise connectors.
  • Research existing business processes and identify opportunities for automation and improvement.
  • Maintain and enhance existing production applications.
  • Gather business requirements and translate BRDs into functional and technical solutions.
  • Troubleshoot application, database, workflow, access, and integration issues.
  • Coordinate with Security teams on entitlements and application access.
  • Develop modern SharePoint Online solutions using SPFx, React, HTML, or CSS where appropriate.
  • Support testing, deployment, change management, releases, and post-production validation.
  • Manage multiple application requests and competing business priorities.
  • Follow established Agile, DevOps, documentation, and application-lifecycle practices.
  • Collaborate across business, support, control, and global Technology teams.


Role Requirements:

  • Relevant professional experience building and supporting enterprise business applications.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate.
  • Strong SharePoint Online development experience.
  • Strong SQL Server development skills.
  • Experience with stored procedures, relational database design, tables, indexing, joins, MERGE commands, and performance tuning.
  • Experience integrating Power Platform applications with SQL Server and other connectors.
  • Demonstrated experience personally building production applications rather than only administering platforms or producing reports.
  • Production support and technical troubleshooting experience.
  • Financial-services, banking, or comparable financial-industry experience.
  • Ability to gather requirements and translate business processes into technical solutions.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work onsite in New York City at least three days per week.
  • Applicants must already be based within commuting distance of New York City.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Power BI and Dataverse.
  • Alteryx.
  • SPFx, React, HTML, and CSS.
  • ServiceNow, JIRA, Bitbucket, or Jenkins.
  • Active Directory entitlement and application-access experience.
  • Agile and DevOps experience.
  • Microsoft Power Platform or low-code certifications.
  • Experience supporting Risk, Compliance, KYC, Regulatory Reporting, Finance, Operations, HR, or Global Markets.
