Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineer has the responsibility to design, specify, document and implement safe and efficient manufacturing processes and provide support to day-to-day manufacturing operations. Includes collection and analysis of manufacturing data to implement process improvements that improve safety, production quality, customer delivery, and cost reductions. Coach and train others on Lean tools such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Standard Work, Pull Systems, SMED, One Piece Flow, etc. Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, lead time reduction, yield improvements. Drive facility capability and capacity improvement through Value Stream Mapping VSM and other processes to support efficiency improvement and sales growth. Support and execute capital plan to support capability, capacity, and efficiency to develop new key plant processes in support of sales growth and product line expansion. Provide manufacturing with decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs and review production schedules and requirements, estimating future requirements. Plan, facilitate and execute continuous improvement events as well as lead long term projects. Work to continuously improve processes on the production floor as well as transactional business process flows by collaborating with multiple functions. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to learn manufacturing processes to supporting business systems. Work directly with direct manufacturing labor to troubleshoot and improve processes, including fabrication, assembly, measuring, and testing of products produced. Report improvement projects status and plans at regular intervals. Promote and teach Problem Solving with 5 Whys and other analytical tools. Incumbent may be required time to time to work on the off- shifts. Perform other duties in support of department or company needs as requested. Able to lead, direct and manage all phases of project management, Initiating, Planning, Skills Required

7+ yrs exp in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement or Operations Management. Exp with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies. Proficient in MS Office, CAD and CAM Software.
