Job description

Senior UX Process Analyst

The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) supports Ohioans and their families through the following programs: Cash and Food Assistance, Employment Services and Workforce Development, Unemployment Insurance, Adult Protective Services, and Child Support. Public service is an honorable way to serve the community in a hands-on dedicated way. You can make a difference in someone's world!

The Office of Information Services (OIS) works to support the business functions and the delivery of health, human, and employment services through the application of information technology. OIS supports the delivery of programs to millions of recipients through the development and round-the-clock operation of automated information systems. Due to the number of end-users and technologies supported, OIS is one of the largest and most complex IT organizations within Ohio state government.

Job Description

The Senior UX Process Analyst is a member of the County Operations User Experience Team, leading complex analysis efforts that directly shape how counties deliver services to Ohio families. In this role, you will evaluate business processes across all 88 counties, identify opportunities for modernization, and help guide statewide improvement efforts using Power Platform tools and other digital solutions. Your work ensures counties receive clear, practical guidance that strengthens operational efficiency and user experience. This position involves facilitating collaboration among counties, program offices, and OIS technical teams, often serving as the senior liaison for escalated issues and cross-agency initiatives. You will lead requirements-gathering sessions, assess the impact of proposed system or workflow changes, and help define tasks, deliverables, and communication strategies that keep stakeholders aligned. Strong organization, timely follow-through, and consistent communication are essential as you balance multiple projects and maintain consistency across statewide efforts. One of the most meaningful aspects of this role is the impact you have on modernization and service delivery across Ohio. Your work improves how counties use technology, helps streamline business processes, and supports digital transformation strategies that ultimately make it easier for families to access services. You will also mentor lower-level analysts, strengthen analytical practices, and contribute to statewide UX planning that shapes the long-term future of county operations.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Analyze county business processes to identify modernization opportunities, cost-saving strategies, and digital-first improvements using tools like Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.
  • Lead high-visibility, enterprise-level requirements-gathering efforts involving counties, program offices, and OIS technical teams.
  • Develop detailed workflow models, business process documentation, and reengineering recommendations to support statewide UX and modernization initiatives.
  • Evaluate system changes, vendor solutions, and platform enhancements to determine their suitability and impact on county operations and user experience.
  • Define project tasks, deliverables, schedules, and collaboration methods using Microsoft Teams and SharePoint Online to maintain transparency and stakeholder alignment.
  • Serve as the senior liaison for escalated issues and feedback from counties, ensuring consistent communication across program, technical, and leadership teams.
  • Prepare clear, executive-level reports, presentations, and analytical summaries for leadership and county stakeholders.
  • Monitor emerging technologies, low-code/no-code tools, automation trends, and evolving county needs to support continuous improvement and strategic UX planning.
  • Mentor lower-level analysts, lead collaborative working sessions, review work products, and support standardization of documentation and analytical practices.
  • Contribute to statewide digital transformation planning through human-centered design approaches, UX best practices, and long-term modernization strategies.
