If you're outgoing, organized, and love the idea of a job that's part logistics, part community outreach, and part cheerleading for childhood literacy, we'd love to meet you.Position SummaryThe Program Facilitator assists with all aspects of preparing books for distribution, book cleanings, and off-site programming - from sorting and boxing books to leading reading events with kids and families across the community.Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesFacilitate book cleaning eventsFacilitate and lead off-site programs, including Breakfast/Snack Time with Books and Readers in TrainingInteract with volunteersAssist with community outreach by operating information tables at special eventsAssist with book inventory and cycle countsAssist with the incoming and outgoing processing of booksAssist with communication with School LiaisonsBox, sort, and count books for distributionComplete monthly book deliveries to schoolsSpeak in front of groups of peopleOther duties may be assigned at the Director of Northern Nevada's discretion, related to the fundamental aspects of the Program Facilitator roleWhat You'll NeedEducation and ExperienceHigh school diploma requiredExperience working with children and families preferredSkillsFamiliarity with children's literature a plusComfortable presenting and giving instructions to large groupsProficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CanvaStrong written and oral English communicationBilingual in Spanish highly preferredLogisticsReliable personal vehicle, valid auto insurance, and a valid driver's licenseComfortable driving a company vehicle (van, truck)Must pass a pre-employment background checkAvailable to work occasional evenings and weekendsCompliance with the Company Drug and Alcohol Policy, as required for a position that could affect the safety of othersCertificates, Licenses, RegistrationsValid Nevada State Driver's License, proof of current automobile insurance, and automobile registrationWho Thrives in This RoleOutgoing, positive, and energeticComfortable working with a wide variety of personalitiesSelf-directed and able to work independentlyStrong verbal communication and organizational skillsA true team playerGenuinely dedicated to serving program families and children wellPhysical Demands and Work EnvironmentThis role involves frequent standing and walking, sitting, use of hands and fingers, reaching, climbing/balancing, and stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, plus talking and hearing. Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds and drive a vehicle. Vision requirements include close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.Work takes place in office, warehouse, and school settings.
