Job Summary
Teach a variety of instructional courses related to Computer Information Systems (programming and data analytics fields) at Mesa Community College. The courses may include Object-Oriented Programming Fundamentals, C# Level 1, Python Level 1, Java Level 1 and various introductory database courses (including MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server and NoSQL alternatives)
Essential Functions
- Supervises and instructs a diverse population of students in a classroom and / or online setting
- Develops written syllabi / course outlines and uses a range of course materials
- Evaluates knowledge of subject matter taught and monitors students records, scholastic records
- Utilizes departmental and college support systems to maximize student learning and engagement ( Dropout Detective)
- Prepares and grades assignments, including exams (if used)
- Maintains subject-matter knowledge and skills that reflect industry approaches to data analytics and software development
- Performs other duties as assigned
