Position: Oracle Developer
Location: Denver CO - Remote
Duration: Long Term
Job Description:
- We are seeking a skilled Oracle Developer with expertise in optimizing SQL statements and ensuring the performance, security, and availability of databases. The ideal candidate will have experience with Snowflake and Oracle databases, with a focus on transitioning from Snowflake to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The role involves collaborating with other team members and stakeholders to develop and maintain database objects.
Responsibilities:
- Help write and optimize in-application SQL statements to ensure efficient data retrieval and manipulation.
- Ensure the performance, security, and availability of databases by implementing best practices and optimizing database configurations.
- Prepare documentations and specifications related to database structures, queries, and optimizations.
- Profile server resource usage, and optimize and tweak as necessary to maintain optimal performance.
- Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into effective database solutions.
- Develop and maintain existing Snowflake program units, ensuring their compatibility with the transitioning process to Oracle DB.
- Assist with the implementation of new Snowflake program units and their migration to OCI.
- Create consistent and high-performance database objects, including tables, views, indexes, and stored procedures.
- Participate in database design discussions and contribute to the optimization of database schemas.
- Stay updated with Oracle's Cloud offerings, especially OCI, and contribute to the migration strategy from Snowflake to OCI.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Information Technology, with minimum 12+ Years of relevant experience. Proven experience as a Database Engineer or similar role, with a focus on SQL optimization and database performance tuning.
- Strong proficiency in SQL programming and optimization techniques.
- Experience with Snowflake and Oracle databases, with a willingness to transition from Snowflake to OCI.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
