Job descriptionPOSITION: Waste Stream Coordinator SEASON: Boreal Spring (March - April)LOCATION: Port Hueneme, CaliforniaSECTOR/DEPT: Six Mile, LLC ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for loading and unloading various streams of waste for shipment to waste vendors into long-haul trucks, flatbeds, and roll-off containersResponsible for tracking movement of USAP shipping containers from staging yardAssists with auction duties if applicablePerforms operation of warehouse forklift, power tools, hand tools, and company vehiclesPerforms truck weigh station duties as applicable Performs light administrative tasking such as timecards and expense reports Position requires constant physical activity, including bending, consistently lifting and carrying 50 - 70 lbs, reaching and grippingAgrees with and adheres to the Standard Operating Procedures and tasking responsibilities of the Waste departmentAble to work in a team unit composed of diverse personalitiesDisplays self-motivation in physically challenging and atypical work environment; position is comprised of approximately 90% outdoor tasking Able to maintain flexibility and positive attitude in a dynamic, fast-paced work settingPerforms duties in support of Operations Division metrics (as provided by supervisor)Supports the achievement of ASC metrics, whether metrics are directly or indirectly, effected by this position's work activitiesComplies with all ASC Environmental Health & Safety, and Quality Assurance, requirements and goals. Provides documentation to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentationWorks to achieve ASC goals and contractual commitmentsResponsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplacePerform other duties as requiredReports to Solid Waste ManagerREQUIREMENTS:Previous Antarctic deploymentEquipment operating experienceFamiliarity with power tools and machineryAble to stand for up to 8 hours dailyMust be able to lift the safety regulation maximum and perform functions requiring repetitive motion requiredAble to deploy to Port Hueneme, CA for length of contractA prerequisite of employment for this position is to successfully gain a favorable Tier 1 - Elevated Background Investigation (EBI) result prior to deployment.
