About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join The Digital Technology and Innovation group in our Technology Organization.

In this role, you will:

• Apply Wells Fargo Digital Banking coding practices to test-drive the creation of micro-services with Java, JEE, JUnit, Spring, Restful services
• Design, code, test, debug, and document programs using Agile development practices
• Maintain broad knowledge of other technology engineering disciplines and collaborate with other key experts to ensure we are making the right technology choices for Wells Fargo
• Translate advanced technology experience, an in-depth knowledge of the organization's tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutions
• Expert resource for architects in the development of target architectures to ensure that they can be properly designed and implemented through sound engineering practices
• Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies, and recommend innovations that enhance operations and/or provide a competitive advantage to the organization
• Provide expert counsel to senior technology leadership and advise and mentor others with the goal of knowledge transfer. Will represent Wells Fargo to external industry groups, influencing industry standards
• Work closely with application teams, infrastructure, and application teams to maintain applications that are secure and highly scalable/available. Plan, execute, and maintain road-map in alignment with Enterprise Security standards and in accordance to established business SLAs
• Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
• Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines
• Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs
• Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors
• Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
• Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals

Required Qualifications, US:

• 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
• 5+ years of JavaEE experience
• 5 + years of Java Web Services experience
• 5+ years of Spring experience
• 2+ years of experience developing and using RESTful Application Program Interface (API)
• 2+ years of experience in microservices development
• 2 + years of cloud computing experience
• 2+ years of MQ Series or Kafka Messaging experience

Desired Qualifications:

• An industry-standard technology certification
• 5+ years of Agile experience
• 4+ years relational database management system (RDBMS) experience
• 3+ years of banking industry experience
• 1+ year of experience with in-memory databases such as Redis, MongoDB, or Cassandra
• Experience in managing off property Application Programming Interface (API) orchestration and integration
• Experience Hadoop ecosystem tools relevant for real-time and batch data ingestion, processing and provisioning using tools such as Apache Flume, Apache Kafka, Apache Sqoop, Apache Flink, Apache Hive or Apache Storm
• Knowledge and understanding of technology object oriented: design patterns and their application
• Knowledge and understanding of test driven application development
• Ability to coordinate with a team of Engineers and Support resources across the world in coordination with multiple partners on large initiatives
• Ability to design, develop, and implement large scale/complex software applications

Pay Range $133,300.00 - $237,100.00 Annual
