Job description

Structural Steel Detailing Coordinator

We are seeking a Structural Steel Detailing Coordinator to support the successful delivery of structural steel projects through effective coordination, oversight, and quality control of detailing efforts.

This role is ideal for someone with a background in structural steel detailing who is looking to step into a more management-focused position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage structural steel detailing activities from start to finish
  • Review and check shop drawings for accuracy, completeness, and constructability
  • Serve as the main point of contact between detailers, engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams
  • Ensure drawings meet project specifications, industry standards, and schedules
  • Track progress of detailing deliverables and maintain timelines
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies between drawings, plans, and field conditions
  • Support project teams with RFIs and drawing-related questions

Qualifications:

  • Background in structural steel detailing required
  • Experience reviewing and checking shop drawings
  • Strong understanding of fabrication and erection processes
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
  • Familiarity with detailing software (Tekla, SDS/2, AutoCAD, etc.) is helpful, but not required
