Dispatch Coordinator | Role Description
CLASSIFICATION: Hourly
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 5% Average

**Pay Rate $20-23 DOE**


SUMMARY
A Dispatcher is responsible for coordination and the utilization of drivers, trucks and containers to create
capacity, maximize productivity and ensure prompt, courteous and efficient service to all customers. This is
achieved by helping to develop and maintain delivery schedules, developing customer service guidelines, &
scheduling the regular maintenance for assets. The Dispatcher is directly responsible for the region’s overall
efficient use of available delivery assets. The Dispatcher provides support to branch operations, sales teams,
and customers.
The job performance of a Dispatcher will be evaluated based upon their effectiveness in executing the duties
and responsibilities listed below.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Leadership & Communication
• Responsible for communication with all levels of the region to ensure scheduling of assets happen as
efficiently as possible.
o Oversee all dispatch functions which include schedules, routing, and delivery efficiency.
o Responsible for handling emergency situations with documentation and resolution with Dispatch
Manager and Yard Manager.
o Communicate with the customers to ensure total satisfaction with the timeliness of the delivery.
o Field any calls about scheduled deliveries.
o Responsible for all DOT regulations and driver logs.
o Manages a database of drivers and routes and equipment inventory to be able to effectively
support the region.
• Review, track and report annual action plan progress results to Dispatch Manager and/or Regional
Manager.
• Prepare for and actively participate in all Company meetings and functions.

Operations
• Schedule and coordinate retail/commercial deliveries
• Monitor deliveries and ensure product is delivered on time.
• Keep up to date on local, state and federal regulations on transportation.
• Obtaining all driver’s trip sheets at end of day and file appropriately.
• Work closely with third party trucking companies and vendors.
• Assist sales representatives when scheduling loads by determining correct trucks for product/material
being delivered.

based on dispatch business plans and IDP goals. Participate in constructive feedback and necessary
support to attain individual employee goals, as provided by the Dispatch Manager and/or Regional
Manager.
• Continually update your personal knowledge, skills and abilities by participating in ongoing educational
opportunities as determined in collaboration with Dispatch Manager and/or Regional Manager.
• Master and adopt the use of basic company tools and systems including technology, software, email, etc.
Adhere to proper documentation and reporting procedures.
