This role combines advanced systems engineering expertise with deep knowledge of collaboration tools to ensure seamless communication, security, and productivity for the enterprise. The Senior Collaboration Engineer will serve as a technical leader, mentor, and subject matter expert for collaboration services. Your Responsibilities on the Team Lead the deployment, configuration, management, and ongoing optimization of enterprise messaging and collaboration platforms, including Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Exchange Online, Purview, SharePoint, One Drive, Zoom, Box, and other collaboration tools. Ensure high availability, performance, regulatory compliance, and security across all collaboration systems, aligning with enterprise standards and audit requirements. Lead integration projects with IT and business stakeholders to streamline communication workflows, reduce friction, and enable seamless cross-platform collaboration. Develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation, runbooks, standard operating procedures, and engineering best practices. Administer and maintain on-premises Active Directory environments, including user and group management, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), organizational unit (OU) structures, and domain trust configurations. Manage and optimize Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), including hybrid identity configurations, Conditional Access policies, role-based access control (RBAC), and integration with Microsoft 365 services. Oversee directory synchronization processes (Azure AD Connect / Entra Connect), ensuring clean, consistent identity data on-premises AD and cloud environments. Support identity governance initiatives including access reviews, privileged identity management (PIM), and lifecycle workflows for joiner, mover, and leaver processes. Troubleshoot and resolve complex identity and authentication issues, including SSO, MFA, and federation challenges across hybrid environments. Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for enterprise AI tools, including Claude (Anthropic) and ChatGPT Enterprise, overseeing licensing, configuration, user provisioning, and policy management. Partner with network engineering, application teams, security, and business units to design and implement solutions aligned with corporate objectives and enterprise architecture standards. Translate complex business requirements into scalable, reliable technical solutions, applying industry best practices and creative problem-solving. Mentor and coach junior engineers and technical staff on collaboration platforms, Active Directory, M365, and systems engineering best practices, fostering a culture of continuous learning. Serve as a senior technical resource for project planning, platform integrations, and high-priority troubleshooting escalations. Research and evaluate emerging technologies across collaboration, AI, identity, and endpoint management; present findings and strategic recommendations to leadership. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 7+ years of experience in systems engineering, enterprise environments, and collaboration platform administration. Proven hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 environments, including Microsoft Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Purview, Slack, Zoom, Box and ChatGPT Enterprise. Relevant certifications are a plus: Microsoft 365 Certified (Fundamentals or Administrator Expert), Azure Administrator (AZ-104), MCSE, AWS Cloud Administration, or equivalent. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with external vendors. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. High level of professionalism, exhibiting thoroughness and follow-up with vendors, contractors, associates, VIPs, and Executives. Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance and prioritize multiple workstreams under pressure in a team-oriented environment. Some travel may be required for conferences and vendor meetings. Strong working knowledge of Active Directory (on-premises and Azure AD / Entra ID), including GPO management, OU structures, hybrid identity, Conditional Access policies, and Azure AD Connect synchronization. Experience administering enterprise AI tools, with a specific focus on Claude (Anthropic) — including workspace configuration, user provisioning, data handling policies, access governance, and acceptable use enforcement.
