Senior Safety Program Manager
Position Overview
The Senior Safety Program Manager is pivotal in cultivating a strong safety culture by developing and executing extensive safety initiatives that comply with company policies, OSHA guidelines, and unique client specifications for commercial construction projects. This role is perfect for individuals dedicated to safety, eager to minimize risks, and ensure a secure work environment across numerous job sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and sustain customized safety plans that align with corporate safety objectives.
- Perform comprehensive safety audits, inspections, and risk evaluations on active construction sites.
- Lead incident investigations, preparing detailed reports and corrective action strategies.
- Coordinate and conduct safety meetings, toolbox discussions, and instructional sessions for site teams and subcontractors.
- Ensure adherence to OSHA, state, local regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain detailed records of safety activities, including permits, logs, and reports.
- Collaborate with project managers and superintendents to identify and address safety issues proactively.
- Mentor and support the development of junior safety personnel.
- Serve as the primary contact for safety inquiries from clients and regulatory agencies.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in safety roles within commercial construction, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Certifications: OSHA 30-hour, First Aid/CPR required; CHST or CSP preferred.
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, risk management, and accident prevention strategies.
- Outstanding communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
