Overview: A Unit Coordinator plays a crucial role in LTC settings by providing administrative and clerical support to nursing units, contributing to the smooth functioning of the healthcare facility. The primary responsibilities involve maintaining accurate records, facilitating communication between staff members, and ensuring efficient day-to-day operations within the unit.
Key Responsibilities:
Record Keeping:
Maintain and update patient records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established protocols.
Input and retrieve patient information from electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Compile and organize medical charts, admission and discharge documents, and other relevant paperwork.
Communication:
Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
Relay messages, instructions, and pertinent information to the appropriate personnel within the unit.
Answer and direct phone calls, responding to inquiries and forwarding messages as needed.
Scheduling and Coordination:

Supply Management:
Monitor and maintain inventory levels of unit supplies.

Patient Support:
