Description

This role within Emerson serves as an advanced Learning Management System (LMS) resource responsible for leading complex system initiatives, integrations, enhancements, and governance activities across the Global Education Services ecosystem. The Sr. Specialist drives the execution of large-scale LMS projects, ensures system integrity and performance, and partners with business stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors to optimize learning operations, improve system capabilities, and deliver scalable solutions that support organizational objectives.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Lead complex LMS initiatives and enhancements, managing scope, timelines, dependencies, risks, and stakeholder alignment for system-related projects.
  • Own monitoring of LMS integrations, ensuring data integrity, interoperability, and business continuity.
  • Coordinate release management activities with LMS vendor and IT, including testing, validation, communication planning, and post-release monitoring.
  • Design and lead system testing strategies, validation activities, and user acceptance testing for releases, integrations, and enhancements while ensuring alignment with accreditation and compliance standards.
  • Partner with vendors and IT to review release notes, support escalations, evaluate configuration opportunities, and assess enhancement opportunities that improve business processes and user experience.
  • Serve as a key LMS authority, providing guidance on configuration, permissions, learning paths, reporting, system governance, and extended enterprise use cases.
  • Develop and maintain system governance artifacts, including role-based permissions, process documentation, operational standards, and best practices that support consistency, scalability, and compliance across the LMS.
  • Lead system audits and optimization efforts, identifying opportunities to improve workflows, performance, data quality, and user experience.
  • Drive issue management and resolution, including defect triage, escalation coordination, and stakeholder communication.
  • Partner with business units to define and deliver learning analytics, dashboards, and reporting solutions that support operational decision-making.
  • Support change management and user enablement initiatives, including training of super users and administrators while promoting adoption of new processes and system capabilities.
  • Consult with business units and functional leaders to understand evolving learning requirements and translate business needs into scalable system solutions and reporting capabilities.
  • Act as a key liaison across IT, vendors, and business teams, providing guidance on system capabilities and constraints.

Who You Are:

You are an experienced systems professional with deep LMS expertise who thrives in complex environments. You apply advanced knowledge and sound judgment to solve complex technical and operational challenges, improve processes, and guide stakeholders toward effective solutions. For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Learning & Development, or related field plus 8+ years’ experience; or 6+ years and a Master’s degree; or equivalent work experience leading LMS or learning technology projects in an enterprise environment.
  • Proven success managing system integrations, releases, and testing/validation for learning platforms.
  • Deep knowledge of LMS administration, security roles/permissions, IACET standards, and data/reporting.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills; ability to influence at multiple levels.
  • Natural curiosity to explore and try new approaches, technologies and techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate business requirements, recommend system solutions, and influence decisions across technical and non-technical stakeholder groups.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Agile or PMP certification
  • Knowledge in Oracle and Learning Management Systems preferred
  • Familiarity with course design and development
