We are Progress - the trusted provider of software that enables our customers to develop, deploy and manage responsible, AI-powered applications and experiences with agility and ease. Join us as a Senior Professional Services Principal Consultant and help us do what we do best: propelling business forward. This will be a role working between your home office and one of our customer locations in Honolulu Hawaii. This position is contingent on you living in Hawaii. Progress Federal Solutions is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Progress Software, a publicly held company building products that impact millions of people every day. Across the globe, Progress technology has been used to discover new medicines, run the world's financial systems, prevent terrorism, and much more. The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of hands-on database experience, a strong foundation in enterprise data management, and the versatility to support Progress Software solutions across integration, search, analytics, and emerging AI-enabled capabilities, partnering closely with customers to modernize and optimize mission-critical data platforms.

  • Troubleshoot complex customer issues across application, data, and infrastructure layers; provide root-cause analysis and remediation plans.
  • Collaborate with customer stakeholders, engineering, and product teams to translate mission needs into technical requirements and solution designs.
  • Develop implementation artifacts (architecture diagrams, runbooks, deployment guides) and deliver knowledge transfer to customer teams.
  • Mentor teammates and contribute reusable patterns, accelerators, and best practices to improve delivery quality and consistency.
  • Support emerging AI-enabled use cases (e.g., semantic search, RAG) by helping customers operationalize prototypes with appropriate evaluation and governance.

Your background:

  • US Citizen required due to access needed in this role.
  • Active Top-Secret clearance with Full Scope or Counter-Intelligence Poly.
  • Located in the United States to support a role in Honolulu HI.
  • Half to full-time on-site.

  • Project-based experience in the following areas:

    • JSON or XML data modeling.
    • Experience across multiple programming tools, package managers, and common packages or libraries (e.g., npm, Node.js, pip, Anaconda, yum, apt).
    • Advanced debugging tools (Chrome DevTools, VS Code/IntelliJ debuggers), and implementing automated testing with tools such as Postman, JUnit, PyTest, etc.
  • Experience using modern source code management and CI/CD tools such as GitHub, GitLab, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
  • Experience using Linux administration and shell scripting.
  • High capacity for learning new technologies.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to demonstrate and present to customers and stakeholders.
