Analyst, Pricing & Yield

Be Part of What's Next

Bring data to the center of smarter advertising decisions. As an Analyst, Pricing & Yield, you'll transform sales and campaign data into actionable insights that help maximize revenue, improve operational efficiency, and deliver value for both advertisers and Hearst Magazines. Your analysis will directly influence pricing strategies, inventory management, and the overall health of our advertising business.

About Hearst Magazines (Why Us?)

Hearst Magazines is one of the world's largest publishers, with 30 iconic brands that inspire, inform, and entertain audiences across every platform. From fashion and food to wellness, entertainment, and technology, our brands reach millions of consumers every month through trusted editorial content and innovative advertising solutions. We foster a collaborative, inclusive culture where curiosity, creativity, and data-driven thinking fuel what's next.

Key Responsibilities (What You Are Doing)

  • Analyze sales, pricing, and inventory data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks that support revenue growth and optimize advertising yield.
  • Respond to pre-sale pricing requests by providing media math, pricing recommendations, and guidance that aligns advertiser objectives with company business rules.
  • Collaborate with Account Management and Client Success teams to ensure pricing processes, rate cards, and workflows support competitive, profitable deals.
  • Review insertion orders and media plans during the approval process to identify potential risks, ensure proper inventory reservation, and maintain healthy yield management practices.
  • Monitor campaign performance from pre-sale through post-sale, identifying revenue-at-risk and partnering with Campaign Management and Client Success teams to resolve delivery challenges.
  • Partner with Finance to balance operational insights with financial reporting needs, providing recommendations that support informed business decisions.
  • Develop and maintain reporting and dashboards using key data sources, including Salesforce, AdPoint, Google Ad Manager, and other advertising platforms.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders across Revenue Operations, helping drive strategic discussions and continuous process improvements.

Qualifications (What We're Looking For)

  • 1+ years of experience in advertising yield, pricing, analytics, or a related field, with media or digital advertising experience preferred.
  • Experience building media plans and supporting digital advertising campaigns is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Working knowledge of digital advertising, web analytics, audience measurement, and programmatic buying channels.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Salesforce, and reporting or business intelligence tools.
  • Familiarity with advertising platforms such as Google Ad Manager (GAM), AdPoint, or similar order management systems is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to audiences with varying levels of technical expertise.
  • Curious, detail-oriented, and adaptable, with the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is welcome; equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • This role is based in New York and follows a hybrid schedule with an expectation of four days per week in the office.

Benefits (What We Offer)

  • Work with the Best: Collaborate with top-tier professionals across media, advertising, tech, fashion, lifestyle, and publishing, shaping the future of these dynamic industries.
  • Grow Your Skills: Unlock your potential with access to innovative training programs, immersive workshops, and exclusive industry events.
  • Work-Life Harmony: Enjoy the flexibility of hybrid work, empowering you to balance professional success with personal priorities.
  • Foster Connection & Belonging: Join our Employee Resource Groups and help create a welcoming workplace where everyone feels valued and empowered.
  • Wellness First: Prioritize your well-being with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance from Day 1.
  • Plan for Your Financial Future: Enjoy competitive financial perks, including a 401(k) plan with a generous company match.

The base salary range for this role is $66,000$80,000. This position is not eligible for bonus or commission compensation. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace where all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, creed, sex, gender (including pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, or related medical conditions), sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, ancestry, age, disability, genetic information, marital status, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
