THE OPPORTUNITY
The Strategic Account Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities while managing and expanding relationships with key existing customers. This role partners closely with internal teams to deliver high-quality service, anticipate client needs, and ensure long-term customer satisfaction and retention. The ideal candidate is consultative, proactive, and highly organized, with strong sales acumen and the ability to balance new business development with strategic account management in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Manage and grow a portfolio of strategic and high-value customer accounts.
- Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities aligned with company growth objectives.
- Lead the sales process from initial outreach through proposal development, contract negotiation, and customer onboarding.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships by responding to questions, concerns, and service issues with urgency and professionalism.
- Collaborate with operations, customer service, and other internal teams to ensure service commitments are met and customer expectations are exceeded.
- Maintain a strong field presence, with regular time spent at customer offices and job sites as a critical component of managing and growing accounts.
- Stay informed on industry trends, market conditions, and changes to local hauling, recycling, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate customer records, proposals, and activity tracking within the CRM system.
- Enter customer orders and service details into internal systems, generate reports, and verify data accuracy.
- Manage customer setup processes, including obtaining purchase orders, contracts, and all required documentation.
- Provide feedback to leadership on market trends, customer needs, competitive activity, and opportunities for service improvement.
- Support general office and customer communication needs, including responding to incoming calls and emails as needed.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO OUR ORGANIZATION
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of experience in account management, sales, or business development, preferably in a service-based or logistics-related industry.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex customer relationships and drive revenue growth across multiple accounts.
- Experience negotiating contracts and developing pricing and proposals.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with both customers and internal teams.
- Working knowledge of CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Self-directed, proactive, and results-oriented with a high level of professionalism.
- Ability to analyze customer needs and apply practical business solutions to deliver exceptional service.
- Valid driver's license with good driving record.

- Competitive base salary of $45,000 plus commission, with expected OTE of $97,000 to $177,000
