Who We Are:

PRIME AE Group, Inc. () is a nationally ranked, full-service architecture and engineering firm driven by collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to strengthening the communities we serve. In this role, you will support the design and development of electrical systems across a diverse range of building types and market sectors. Working closely with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams, you will contribute to electrical system design, coordination, and construction documentation while ensuring compliance with project specifications and applicable codes.

You will collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and field personnel to deliver high-quality projects from concept through construction. This position provides an opportunity to further develop technical expertise while contributing to complex projects within a collaborative engineering environment.

Project types include Healthcare, Federal, Justice, K-12, Higher Education, Corporate/Commercial, Wastewater Treatment Plants, Retail, Multifamily & Assisted Living, Hospitality, Cultural & Historic, Data Centers, Industrial, Residential, and Military/DoD facilities.

What You’ll Do:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design of electrical systems for a variety of building types and market sectors.
  • Develop electrical system layouts and construction documentation from concept through final design phases.
  • Coordinate with field staff, architects, contractors, and engineers to ensure compliance with project specifications and design intent during construction.
  • Perform electrical engineering calculations and technical analyses to support system design.
  • Apply problem-solving techniques to develop efficient and innovative design solutions.
  • Assist with preparation of construction drawings, technical reports, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, structural, civil, and architectural professionals.
  • Provide guidance and technical support to junior staff as appropriate.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 7+ years of experience in electrical system design.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Experience designing electrical systems including power distribution, lighting and lighting controls, grounding and bonding, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems (e.g., telecommunications, paging, nurse call).
  • Professional credentials such as RCDD, LEED, or WELL are a plus.
  • Experience preparing specifications using AIA MasterSpec or SpecsIntact preferred.
  • Proficiency with Autodesk AutoCAD, Revit, BIM 360, and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
  • Experience with electrical analysis and design software such as EasyPower, SKM, or similar power system analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with lighting design and photometric software such as Visual.
  • Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal codes and standards governing electrical design.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet project deadlines.

Why PRIME AE:
