Purpose of the Job
Responsible for inspecting and verifying compliance with food safety, sanitation, and ensuring that operational practices are executed according to Fresco y Mas standards in assigned stores. The auditor will provide training to store personnel as needed.
Responsibilities
Inspect assigned retail locations, evaluate, report, and qualify processes associated with food safety, pharmacy, and retail success using current audit standards. Enter audit results to include detailed notes in the database. Provide documented audit results to the store, district leadership, and manager, total loss, notify specialist, asset protection, of control failures or theft activity as identified. Report serious deficiencies of regulatory compliance and/or labor fraud violations. Work with manager to develop an action plan for audit findings. Meet with store manager and key associates, review audit results, and assist with action plans.
Ensure that proper food safety practices are followed, provide "on-site" training and job aids and provide available and verified training materials.
Work to identify root cause of all failed regulatory inspections and coordinate follow-up to ensure corrective action plans are implemented. Work with senior auditors to develop a set of investigative skills. Respond as directed to address critical incidents (weather-related events, fires, natural disasters) and support stores identifying which product is "food safe" and ensure proper disposition and accountability throughout the recovery process.
Facilitate on-site food manager certification training to designated store representatives. Conduct one-on-one training clinics for store management as warranted. Participate in DM/RVP conference calls to improve food safety standards, DOA results, and most frequent failed audit processes.

Education Required
Bachelors degree or 4 years of study Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or related

Relevant Experience
Supervisory experience 0-3 years minimum No supervisory experience
Required Language(s)
English preferred
Required English Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Possess a valid drivers license with a satisfactory driving record.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Possibility to obtain Professional Food Manager certifications within 90 days of onboarding.
Possibility to obtain Food Safety Management provided by the company.
Ability to obtain company-provided food safety management certifications and train others.
Competent in forensic audit tasks and investigations.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Leadership and education/coaching skill sets.
Strong ability to train and coach others.
Professional Food Manager certifications.
Possess any of the following certificates RS, HACCP, REHS, or SQF

While performing the essential functions of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit, use hands or fingers to manipulate, hold, or feel objects, tools, or controls, speak, see, hear, and perform repetitive motions with both hands.
Occasionally, the employee is required to stand or walk on carpets, tiles, or concrete.
Working Conditions:
Most of the time will be spent indoors in a traditional office environment. Safety risk factors: Rarely required to turn backwards and/or neck and walk on a slippery or cluttered floor surface.
