Quality Assurance Program Development
Responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining a formal, comprehensive Quality Assurance Program encompassing all functions and programs for which Environmental Management Service has responsibility.
The program must meet all regulatory requirements, including Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and quality standards developed by the Veterans Affairs Central Office of Environmental Management.
Responsible for monitoring all aspects quality for the Sanitation Section, Waste Management, Pest Control, Textile Distribution, and Linen Section to include (uniforms, scrub suits and other personal protective equipment (PPE).
Schedule, coordinate and monitor all aspects of the Service level continuous education.
Works closely with the Chief and Assistant Chiefs to ensure close coordination of the Environmental Management Service functional activities within the overall medical center.
Serves as Co-chairperson of the EMS Quality Assurance Committee which involves planning the agenda, developing yearly schedules, planning for the documentation of minutes and maintaining records of all committee functions.
Use a variety of inspection and analysis tools, both electronic and manual such as fluorescent gel or Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) monitoring.
Work Schedule: 7:30am - 4:00pm (Main Tour) May Vary due to training needs. Telework: Adhoc, situational.
