Enterprise Strategy & Business Development Principal Consultant, Ventures
This senior technical/functional leader role is responsible for developing investment theses by leveraging KP and external expertise to proactively source deal flow and generate strategic insights; proactively executing investment transactions, including the review and negotiation of term sheets and transaction documents; coordinating portfolio investments through board participation and assisting portfolio companies with targeted value-add efforts; driving diligence for new investments including priorities, planning, and execution; and preparing and presenting insights from investment work to the Investment Committee, KP executives, and KPV Limited Partners.
Essential responsibilities include promoting learning in others by communicating information and providing advice to drive projects forward; building collaborative, cross-functional relationships; driving the execution of multiple work streams by identifying member and operational needs; translating business strategy into actionable business requirements; creating and implementing strategies that support KPs mission by collaborating with leadership to plan and implement short-term and long-term strategies and tactics; designing and implementing plans that gain support from executive leadership; driving relationships with internal, external, and cross-functional stakeholders; driving the development of repeatable processes; and developing and growing businesses and partnerships.
Minimum qualifications include two (2) years of experience in healthcare venture or private equity, one (1) year experience working directly with a Board of Directors, five (5) years of leadership experience, six (6) years of experience building and developing high-performing teams, six (6) years of experience building and/or executing a wide range of enterprise strategies, or strategic investments, ventures, or partnerships, six (6) years of experience managing complex programs, deal diligence, and/or integrations, six (6) years of experience developing agendas and materials for executive and/or board audiences, six (6) years of experience handling sensitive information with utmost discretion and confidentiality, three (3) years of leadership experience within a matrixed organization, and a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university AND minimum eight (8) years of experience in business administration, healthcare administration or a directly related field, OR Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university AND minimum six (6) years of experience working for a management consulting firm, investment fund, or investment bank.
