Benefits Analyst

Our client, a government agency in the public sector, is seeking a Benefits Analyst to join their team. As a Benefits Analyst, you will be part of the Benefits Administration Department supporting eligibility, enrollment operations, and data analysis.

Job Title: Benefits Analyst

Location: Madison, WI - Mostly remote - Wisconsin residency required (no relocation)

Duration: 12+ months with highly possible extension

Pay Range: $29 - $31/ hr. on W2

Work Arrangement:

  • Wisconsin residency required (no relocation)
  • Schedule: Mostly remote
  • First 6 months: Onsite every Wednesday for onboarding/training
  • After 6 months: Onsite 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month
  • Additional onsite attendance may be required for meetings/training

What's the Job?

  • Perform data analysis, reconciliation, and validation across files, reports, and systems to identify discrepancies, inconsistencies, and trends.
  • Research and resolve eligibility, enrollment, billing, or vendor file discrepancies, including root cause identification and corrective actions.
  • Serve as a liaison between internal staff, technical teams, vendors, and stakeholders to communicate issues and support resolution of complex eligibility and enrollment issues.
  • Ensure compliance with statutes, administrative codes, policies, procedures, and business rules related to benefits administration.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of findings, resolutions, and process improvements to support ongoing operational excellence.

What's Needed?

  • Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in benefits administration, eligibility, enrollment operations, or a closely related field.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, reconciliation, and validation, including use of Microsoft Excel for comparison and analysis.
  • Experience researching and resolving eligibility, enrollment, billing, or vendor file discrepancies.
  • Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills to clearly convey complex information and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to serve as an effective liaison between technical teams, vendors, and internal staff to facilitate issue resolution.
