Data Center Administrator
Data Center Administrator works under limited supervision to perform basic, intermediate and advanced data center functions. Performs advanced troubleshooting and resolution of Data Center infrastructure problems.
Assists with maintaining building security and immediately responds to building emergencies on a 24-hour basis
Serve as a backup to the Data Center Manager, as directed
Provide support to customers, staff and/or contractors
Perform day-to-day management, updates, maintenance and troubleshooting of all infrastructure systems
Monitors contractor performance and works closely with outside vendors and contractors to ensure work is completed according to specifications
Inspect proper monitoring, logging, and reporting on the Data Center functions through direct observation and as reported by others
Oversee appropriate responses and checks for correction of issues related to the operation of the Data Center, such as the monitoring alarms, ticket requests/incidents, or direct observation
Oversee the proper use of the monitoring systems to identify problems or issues with the Data Center infrastructure
Participate in root cause analysis and follow up to ensure the issue is addressed at the root level
Effectively represent Data Center operations interests during internal meetings and with outside vendors/partners
Work on individual or group projects related to the operation and maintenance of the Data Center under the direction of the Data Center Manager
Performs immediate cleaning duties necessary to maintain a clean and safe facility
Power outage response procedures and methods
Visual inspection procedures of various equipment or systems
Data Center equipment/systems troubleshooting methods
Installs and maintains all facilities and customer cross connects
Responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments (with the help of the NOC). This includes preparation of outgoing packages, return shipments and receipt of deliveries. This may also require managing large possibly heavy parcels
Ability to support Data Center Audits and Certifications

2-5 years of data center operations experience

Must be able to travel to various work-site locations on demand
Work performed primarily indoors with regular exposure to medium voltage equipment and hazards associated with maintaining equipment systems (e.g. mechanical systems, infrastructure building automation systems and controls)
Frequent use of hand and power tools
Frequent bending, kneeling, squatting and climbing in cramped spaces
Frequent use of ladders or man lift up to 20 feet
Frequently lift up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
50% travel to various work-site locations on demand
