Temporary Benefits Coordinator
We are seeking a Temporary Benefits Coordinator to provide day-to-day support to a busy Benefits team. This position will focus heavily on benefits data, payroll deductions, invoice processing, and leave administration.
The ideal candidate will have at least one year of direct benefits experience and be comfortable working with employee data, Excel spreadsheets, HRIS/payroll systems, and confidential information. Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies are essential.
Key responsibilities include:
- Review employee benefit deductions and research discrepancies or missing deductions.
- Maintain and update benefit-related tracking spreadsheets and shared files.
- Assist with processing and organizing benefits invoices for payment.
- Enter and maintain leave of absence information within the HRIS.
- Support FMLA and other leave-related administrative processes.
- Assist with California Paid Family Leave and EDD documentation as needed.
- Review employee benefit information related to new hires and qualifying life events.
- Reconcile benefit and payroll information and investigate inconsistencies.
- Maintain accurate records while handling confidential employee information.
- Provide general administrative support to the Benefits team and assist with special projects.
Qualifications include:
- 1+ year of dedicated benefits administration experience, preferably within a larger organization.
- Hands-on experience supporting employee benefits and/or leave administration.
- Experience working with benefits across multiple states is preferred.
- Intermediate Excel skills, including sorting, filtering, basic formulas, and SUM functions.
- Comfortable working with large amounts of data and identifying discrepancies.
- Experience using an HRIS and/or payroll system; Workday or ADP experience is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Outlook, Excel, and PDF/document management tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to follow established processes and work independently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred.
Additional details include:
- Previous FMLA/LOA experience is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with California leave programs, including Paid Family Leave and EDD, is a plus.
- Experience working with an external leave vendor is beneficial.
- Benefits reconciliation experience is preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables and VLOOKUP, are a plus.
- Candidates should have substantial hands-on benefits experience rather than limited benefits exposure as part of a broad HR Generalist position.
- This position requires working onsite five days per week.
- Target start date is September 22, 2026.
- Contract is expected to run through January 31, 2027.
