Senior Category Leader Opportunity in Oakland, CA

Join Pacific Gas and Electric Company as a Senior Category Leader and play a pivotal role in shaping our sourcing strategies. This remote position is open to both local and non-local candidates, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while being part of a dynamic team based in Oakland, CA.

As a Senior Category Leader, you will effectively influence lines of business, including senior leadership, to achieve understanding, acceptance, and commitment to sourcing strategies. You will work closely with the Line of Business (LOB) to develop, source, and negotiate major contracts and play a key role in Supplier Relationship Management and the Scorecard process.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a job-related discipline or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain or a related field
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
• Strong ability to develop, issue, and evaluate RFX's, manage vendors, and lead cross-functional teams
• Excellent negotiation skills and contract understanding
• Ability to work independently with limited oversight

Preferences

• Master's Degree in Business Administration or a job-related discipline
• 6 years of experience in procurement or a related field
• ISM-Institute for Supply Management CPSM-Certified Professional in Supply Management certification
• LSS-Lean Six Sigma Certification
• Familiarity with database and information systems such as SCADA, EMS, OMT, OIS, SAP, ERP, COSO, Teradata, COBIT, Question Mark
