Under general direction, responsible for all phases and implementation of large engineering projects over $250 million. Allocates appropriate resources and adjusts plan to meet project needs. Role typically requires between 5 and 8 years of experience.

KX Technologies is seeking a highly motivated Product Development Engineer to join our New Product Development Team. This position is responsible for leading multiple engineering projects, including new product development, cost reduction, and quality improvement projects.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will:

  • Successfully manage multiple projects with minimal supervision for product development of water filtration systems.
  • Plan and execute projects on time and on budget.
  • Lead cross-functional teams through the Stage Gate based product development process.
  • Communicate effectively with internal (sales, marketing, quality, operations, management) and external (customers, vendors) stakeholders.
  • Create requirements documentation, drawings, labels, etc.
  • Quickly learn new technologies, processes, and systems.
  • Identify and execute continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and utilize problem-solving tools to resolve issues.
  • Support Quality in conducting root cause analysis on returned products and complaints.
  • Make objective, data-driven decisions and organize documentation to support them.

Technical Skill Requirements

  • Understanding of product development and Stage Gate process.
  • Proficiency with quality, Lean, and product development tools.
  • Experience with CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Extensive knowledge of MS Office.
  • Experience with project management tools, such as Monday.com.

Professional Experience

  • 7+ years of experience managing product development using a Stage Gate process required.
  • Experience in filtration required.
  • Experience with customer interaction and communication required.
  • Experience in high-volume production and manufacturing required.
  • Experience with change management and document control required.
  • Experience with competitive benchmarking and specification development required.
  • Familiarity with NSF/ANSI regulatory certification preferred.

Education Requirement

  • BS Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Chemical preferred).
