Job Description:
  • The Assembly - Contractor is responsible for metallization and coating of glass substrates using deposition equipment to achieve required electro-optical surface conditions.
  • This role includes surface preparation, inspection, quality tracking, and safe handling of chemicals in a clean room and low-light environment.
  • The position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to recognize multiple failure modes, and the capability to work independently with limited supervision.
Requirement/Must Have:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Relevant manufacturing experience or post-secondary education with related experience.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and ability to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and data entry.
  • Ability to use a microscope for inspection tasks.
  • Ability to work alone and in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to make quality decisions quickly.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to attain and maintain a security clearance.
Experience:
  • Experience in metallization or coating processes preferred.
  • Experience working in clean room environments.
  • Experience using inspection equipment and microscopes.
  • Experience recognizing and categorizing multiple failure modes for quality tracking.
  • Experience handling chemicals such as acids, bases, and solvents.
  • Familiarity with Statistical Process Control preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Lean and 5S methodologies preferred.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform metallization and coating of glass substrates using deposition equipment.
  • Prepare substrates before and after coating using approved cleaning agents and solvents.
  • Inspect coated and uncoated substrates to ensure compliance with acceptance criteria.
  • Use microscopes and inspection tools to identify defects and failure modes.
  • Recognize and categorize multiple failure modes for quality and data tracking.
  • Maintain accurate records using the Quality Tracking System.
  • Safely handle chemicals and operate inspection equipment.
  • Work effectively in low-light inspection and testing environments.
  • Communicate with engineering regarding questionable quality issues.
  • Manage component inventory through both physical and system-based tracking.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Should Have:
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to multitask effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with clean room protocols.

Qualification And Education:

  • Associate degree preferred.
