Cerner Acute Care Expert

VCG is looking for a Cerner Acute Care expert who will be responsible for supporting efforts related to the design, build, implementation, training, evaluation, testing, maintenance and support of Cerner Millennium suite as it relates to the complex acute care information systems environment. Working collaboratively with a variety of internal and external users, the Cerner application/configuration analyst develops detailed clinical specifications to determine system system requirements and user readiness initiatives; participates in system analysis, tailoring and testing; develops and validates specification documentation; and actively participates as a resource in committees as needed. The Cerner application/configuration analyst utilizes both clinical knowledge and strong technical computer skills to support the development/modification, successful implementation, ongoing support and maintenance of the designated clinical Cerner module(s) of their Design Team. Duties include, but not limited to: Design:-Work as part of the design team to develop sound design and standards relative to workflow, vocabulary, content, user interface, and logic. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders in all steps of the design phase.-Design, build and document application changes-Update and maintain clinic-specific Data Collection Workbooks (DCW's)-Document workflow changes-Complete assigned work plan tasks-Must be able to lead application design sessions with customer-Perform data collection required for build-Perform actual hands on application build and validation using Cerner build tools-Mapping current to future state including development of Gap analysis and remediation plan-Ensure the integrity, reliability, consistency and efficiency of integration between the departments relative to the Flow of information, Clinical Work processes and Clinical logic-Work with other Technical, Business and Clinical Analysts to address interface and domain overlap issues and conflicts and resolves disputesImplementation Support:-Is able to demonstrate the functional capabilities and benefits of the application-Assists in the implementation of designed processes and workflowsTesting and Validation:-Participates as a project team lead/member in the testing efforts, including test scenario development, execution of test scripts, and documentation of results-Participates in integrated testing-Provide application Workflow/Integration training and Super User training in preparation for integrated testing-Performs and documents scripted software validation to ensure patient safety prior to and following-production activitiesTraining:-Trains less experienced team members to fill knowledge gaps-Assesses and documents training needs for end users-Assists in the development of training plans, training materials, and execution of a training strategy for end user trainingGo-Live Support:-Interfacing with end users to provide application assistance-Ability to be on site for an extended period of time to support go live-Provide after-hours support of clinical applications as requiredPost-Live Support:-Provide post-live application support-Performs system adaptations and modifications according to approved specifications-Coordinates the resolution of User calls and determines the appropriate action by investigating and analyzing reported hardware and software problemsDocumentation:-Provide comprehensive documentation (WORD, EXCEL, MPP, PowerPoint, Visio) including:-Design (workflows, reports of findings)-Build (dictionaries, screens, functionality, style guides)-Test script development; Gap Analysis; Training Materials and Workflow Start Date: ASAP Length: 10 months to start Region: Northwest Hours: Full Time Travel: 0% Type: Contractor Vector Consulting Group, Inc. is a nationally recognized leader in Healthcare IT Staffing and Consulting Services. VCG also offers a bonus and referral program for those who are interested. -Proficient and knowledgeable at building and maintaining Cerner CareNet Millennium suite of applications-Preferred experience with implementing Cerner Millennium in a complex Acute Care Information Systems environment specific to Medical/Surgical, Renal, Pediatric, Neonatal, Mental Health, Allied Health, Critical Care, Cardiology, Long Term Care, Palliative/Hospice, and Transplantation-Knowledge of Cerner Millennium Powerchart and Medication Administration applications-Build and maintenance experience with Cerner Millennium Powerchart is required, including ESH, PowerForms, IView, Mpages Rules, and Dynamic Documentation-Experience troubleshooting issues in Cerner, including a high level understanding of the Cerner data model and architecture.-Must be able to lead application design sessions with customer (including agendas, action items, minutes, etc.)-Must provide mentorship and training to less experienced team members to fill in knowledge gaps related to the design and build of business requirements using Cerner Millennium applications -Ability to complete project tasks and assignments on time is required.-Proficient in MS Office including using Visio for workflow designs-Must have excellent verbal and written skills
