About the role

The Data Cloud team provides comprehensive, cross-application data insights for our customers. Our products—such as reporting, dashboards, data catalogs, and transformations—help customers understand and utilize their data to make informed decisions.

As a Frontend Engineer on the Transformations and Lineage team within Rippling's Data Platform org, you'll help build the user-facing layer of Rippling Data Cloud, the company's most ambitious data product to date. You'll work on a browser-based SQL/RQL editor, data pipeline scheduling flows, and a lineage explorer that helps customers understand how their data is connected and where it comes from.

This role sits at the center of Rippling's data and AI story: every Rippling AI query that answers a customer's business question flows through the systems this team owns, making it a high-impact, high-visibility position for an engineer who's comfortable owning product surfaces end-to-end and collaborating closely with backend engineers on data contracts and system design.

What you will do

• Serve as a technical subject matter expert and leader within the team
• Share your expertise and mentor a growing team of engineers
• Continuously raise the bar for engineering quality by driving best practices in coding, testing, and deployment

What you will need

• Depth and quality of experience are more important than years, though successful candidates typically have 2+ years of development experience
• Strong experience building well-tested, composable components in React, including design systems and component libraries
• An eye for detail in the user experience—polish, readability, accessibility, and performance
• Skilled in performance tuning for dynamic, front-end-heavy applications
• Experience working with systems at significant technical and organizational scale
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and identifying high-impact opportunities
• Proven ability to influence technology decisions across teams
• Excellent written and verbal communication of complex technical ideas

A variety of factors are considered when determining someone’s compensation–including a candidate’s professional background, experience, and location. Final offer amounts may vary from the amounts listed below.

The pay range for this role is:
135,000 - 225,000 USD per year(US Tier 1)
