Patient Care Tech
Under the supervision of the Charge Nurse and/or Department Manager, Patient Care Tech is a member of the Preoperative team and monitor all patients in the Surgery Department. Will provide support in procuring equipment, room set up, turnover, patient transports, transfers, resupply for sterile and unsterile supplies, equipment and other duties as directed. Projects a good public image and is a self-motivating individual who maintains a courteous and professional attitude.
Job Duties/Responsibilities Requirements:
- Ability to sufficiently read, speak and write English for communication and charting purposes.
- Ability to write reports.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, patients, and the general public.
- Ability to apply, measure and understand the concept of electrical impulse timing, and the use of the appropriate tools.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to work under supervision and to follow instructions.
- Pleasant telephone manners.
- Neat and legible handwriting.
- Minimum of one year prior Patient Care Tech experience in a health care setting preferred.
- Thorough computer skills; proper telephone and interpersonal skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical terminology course preferred.
- Computer education preferred.
- Current BLS certification.
- CPI is required within 30 days of hire.
