How do we do this? With our people. They break through limitations and expectations?- not once in a career, but every day. They help move our company, and the world, forward.

At Corning, there are endless possibilities for making an impact. You can help connect the unconnected, drive the future of automobiles, transform at-home entertainment, and ensure the delivery of lifesaving medicines. And so much more.

Come break through with us.

Our Solar business delivers industry leading, U.S.-made solar components. We manufacture hyper-pure polysilicon, high-quality solar wafers, and innovative photovoltaic modules, leveraging our leadership in advanced manufacturing to serve growing energy demand. You will be a part of advancing critical U.S. supply chains and delivering unmatched quality and reliability to customers.

Role Purpose

The Learning and Development Trainer will design, deliver, and continuously improve training programs that build the skills, confidence, and performance of employees in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role partners closely with Operations, Quality, and EHS to ensure training aligns with production needs, safety standards, and compliance requirements. The trainer will facilitate both classroom and hands-on training, assess skill gaps, maintain accurate training documentation, and support the development of job aids, SOPs, and internal certification programs. This position plays a key role in strengthening workforce capability and fostering a culture of continuous learning on the production floor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deliver training programs for production floor employees, including onboarding, upskilling, cross-training, and compliance/safety training.
  • Facilitate classroom, hands-on, and on-the-job training (OJT) sessions tailored to production roles.
  • Conduct Training Needs Analysis (TNA) in collaboration with supervisors and managers to identify skills gaps and prioritize training initiatives.
  • Maintain and update training materials, SOPs, job aids, and learning management system (LMS) content.
  • Monitor and assess training effectiveness through assessments, observations, and feedback loops; continuously improve training content.
  • Support the development of career pathways and internal certification programs for operators, technicians, and leads.
  • Maintain training records and compliance documentation to meet internal standards and external regulations (e.g., OSHA, ISO).
  • Coach and mentor production employees, acting as a point of contact for skill development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Quality, EHS, Operations) to ensure training aligns with company goals and standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Human Resources, Industrial Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2-4 years of experience in a training role, preferably within a production/manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and facilitation techniques.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, safety practices, and quality systems.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Bilingual (e.g., English/Spanish) a plus.

Schedule:

This position will work a B-Shift Schedule. Candidates must be able to work Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and every other Wednesday (6pm 6 am).

Key Competencies:

  • Hands-on and people-oriented
  • Detail-driven and organized
  • Strong problem-solving and adaptability
  • Comfortable in a factory/plant environment
  • Passionate about employee development

Supplementary Skills:

  • Spanish speaking proficiency
  • Experience with Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Kaizen methodologies
  • Prior experience building internal certification programs or career pathing frameworks
  • Proficient with all parts of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem

This position does not support immigration sponsorship.

The range for this position is $58,934.00 $81,034.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
