Job Title: Mechanical Assembler

Job Description

The Mechanical Assembler will perform mechanical assembly on large generators, utilizing a variety of hand and power tools. The role requires reading and interpreting work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), as well as performing maintenance repairs on generators. The candidate will also learn manufacturer-specific software to diagnose engine and control system problems.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical assembly on large generators.
• Utilize a variety of hand and power tools.
• Read and interpret work instructions, SOPs, and blueprints.
• Perform maintenance repairs on generators.
• Learn and use manufacturer-specific software for diagnosing engine and control system problems.

Essential Skills

• 1+ years' experience in mechanically inclined role.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Ability to read SOPs, work instructions, and blueprints.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs frequently

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with micrometers, scales, pressure gauges, torque wrenches, measuring tapes, electric meters (volts, ohms, amps), etc.
• Ability to interpret blueprints or engineer drawings.
• Experience in automotive technician, diesel technician, motor assembly, HVAC, or similar trade.
• Experience with Overhead crane.

Work Environment

The role is based in a climate-controlled manufacturing environment. Candidates may work during the 1st shift from 7AM to 3:30PM, 2nd shift from 4PM to 12:30AM, or may be open to the upcoming 3rd shift. The team will be moving to a new facility in the near future, located near Fry

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX 77041.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
